Engineer-in-Training (Phoenix, AZ) (multiple positions)

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist professional engineer with civil designs for site development; water, sewer, and drainage reports; cost estimates; and construction inspections. Inspect project sites to monitor and ensure conformance to design specifications. Compute grade requirements and water flow rates factors to determine design specifications. Provide technical advice to industrial and managerial personnel regarding design, construction, or program modifications. Manage and direct the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site. Direct or participate in 3D laser scanning to guide preconstruction or construction. Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems using computer assisted design or drawing tools.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar degree
  • EIT Certification or PE License
  • Strong Knowledge of Autocad Civil 3D
  • The ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills

OPENING

Civil Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities

· Experience in application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology as they relate to land development including design of drainage systems, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, parking, roadways, and athletic fields.


· Design, manage, and coordinate with clients for various public and private civil improvement projects in educational, municipal, and commercial projects.

Qualifications


  • Prefer a BS degree in Civil Engineering or a closely aligned field.
  • 8 plus years of civil engineering experience
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Applicants proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Stormcad, and Watercad is a plus
  • Educational design experience a plus
  • Must have P.E.

Survey Party Chief

Duties/Responsibilities

Represent Hess-Rountree in a professional and ethical manner to our clients, contractors and the general public. Ability to commit to projects and meet or exceed the client’s expectations until the project is successfully completed. Work primarily in the field, performing construction staking tasks, as-built surveys, control, boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys.

Perform necessary checks and recording of information to complete task. Ability to lead survey crews in day-to-day operations and report back to the Survey Manager on daily activities. Ability to critically think and make decisions in the field.


Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience as a Party Chief
  • The ability to perform survey calculations in the field and a thorough knowledge of construction staking procedures and plan interpretation.
  • Knowledge of the PLSS, ALTA/ACSM standards and Arizona Minimum Boundary requirements
  • Familiarity of survey data collectors and software, GPS and Robotic survey instruments
  • Sokkia, Carlson and AutoCAD Civil 3d experience a plus
  • The ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to critically think and make decisions in the field.
  • Ability to work in the field as a one-man crew.
  • Desire to learn new technology and software.
  • Desire to learn 3D laser scanning and surveying with UAVs.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions
  • Ability to carry a minimum of 20 pounds
  • A valid and clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Traveling out of town may be required.
